Catch & release fishing has caused injury to the waterfowl, endangered pets and children, and created unsightly litter.
The fishing lines with hooks attached are often caught in lake vegetation, cut loose, and the waterfowl become entangled in the lines. The hooks have also become embedded in the bird's body.
Careless fishermen frequently leave the lines and hooks alongside the lake where pets are walked, and children play. Dogs on leash sniff the fish scent on the hook and try to eat it.
We the undersigned call for a ban on catch & release fishing at Calabasas Lake.
