Hello All,
Thank you all for your patience and lending your virtual ears! Lakeview's principal contacted me just now, to say that last weeks discussion to pull the art program from Lakeview's curriculum next year had already been reconsidered and the Art Program and Art Teacher will remain intact at this time.
Aside from the fact that some of the information listed was no longer valid, I ask that we all remain aware that other schools in Osceola County as well as through out Florida, whether due to budget restraints or new curriculum standards, are in jeopardy of losing arts programs, and that we, the community, must stand by the fact that the arts are an important part of our children's education in public schools.
I apologize for any inconvenience or additional worry to those associated with Lakeview or the County administration and THANK YOU all again for all of your continued support!

It is with great concern for our children's future that we implore the school administrators to seek alternative measures in order to fulfill budget cuts and curriculum changes laid upon them. We understand that schools must comply with state standards but do not believe that removing Visual Arts or Music from our schools curriculum is the answer.
We, the undersigned call on the Administrators of all Schools to seek alternative measures for fulfilling the new curriculum standards and or budget cuts and NOT eliminate the Visual Arts or Music programs.
We ask that other potential models be considered and that both Music and Art remain a permanent staple curriculum for all Schools in order to maintain high standards for the education of our children.
