Because the Hennepin Canal Parkway is sustained by flowing water, and

Because a breach in the canal’s levies or aqueducts would result in a dry ruin, and

Because the Hennepin Canal would be nearly impossible to restore if allowed to go dry, and

Because the Hennepin Canal is a valuable living historical structure, and

Because the Hennepin Canal is a valuable outdoor recreational site for tens of thousands of citizens,

We the undersigned urge the Governor and General Assembly to resolve their differences and appropriate funding necessary to maintain the Hennepin Canal Parkway.
