RE-OPEN THE SUHYEN POST OFFICE

We, the citizens and customers of Suhyen Post Office, hereby protest vehemently any closure or change in the present status of our post office by the Ghana Post Authorities in Koforidua.

It is our desire to keep our post office at its present state whiles looking for funding to rehabilitate this historic edifice.

We have many concerns, amongst them is the way and manner the post office was closed down, and all letters and parcels given to an individual who has no right to keep such confidential information.

We want to bring to your attention that your action amounts to breach of trust and confidentiality as per the people who self-styled themselves as opinion leaders of the community have no capacity to represent us.

We are especially concerned about the effect your action will have regarding the purchase of stamps, money order, letters, cards and parcels from corporate institutions and individuals that would have been done through the post.

We the undersigned want the Head of the Ghana Post in Koforidua to rescind his decision with immediate effect and revert the property to its status with a Postmaster manning the place.

We want you to understand that your action contravenes the Postal and Courier Services Regulatory Commissions Act of 2003, Act 649 Section 2, 1(a), ‘To promote and encourage the expansion of postal services for the social and economic development of the country.’

We are sorry to inform you that you have failed in this regard.
