Thanks to everyone who signed. I closed the petition because I was just told the Mountoe wrestling team is NOT going to Williamsport. I'm still going to that school board meeting on Jan 25 just to be sure.

Please help our South Williamsport wrestlers stay in South Williamsport! On January 25 there will be a school board meeting. I believe one of the topics will be the wrestling team joining with Williamsport next year.
I am highly opposed to this! I know my boy doesn't want to and that means he may not want to wrestle next year. After all the hard work these South Williamsport boys put in over the years, why can't they just stay in their own district?! What happened to 'just being in high school'? Who cares if we have 12 kids on the team, those 12 kids work their butts off to represent themselves AND South Williamsport.
You are downgrading the wrestlers we DO have by wanting this. I don't care about records, and how our team does as a whole...we have a lot of forfeits, we don't win much as a team, but those boys DESERVE to have their senior night on their territory, deserve to practice with the classmates and friends they've grown up with, deserve to represent SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT because, other than themselves, THAT is who they've worked their butts off for, at practices AND matches. Let them have their own! They've earned it! They're just kids yet! Let them enjoy the sports with their friends, on their turf. It's high school for crying out loud.
This is about more than wrestling, it's about community.
We, the undersigned, call on the SWAHS school board and Athletic Director to let the Mountie Wrestling team stay in SWAHS.
