Santander have told customers that they are closing their agency branches in Ruthin, Aberteifi, Abergele, Llanrwst, Pwllheli and Gresford.
Just three years ago, these branches were opened and Brian Holland of Santander said: 'Santander is committed to developing its agency network further. Agencies are often the lifeblood of rural communities where traditional full banks branches are less common.'
What has changed since then? More and more banks are pulling out of small towns and forcing customers to travel greater distances to bank with them.
Santander UK made a £1.1 BILLION profit in 2013. Its UK boss had a £1.8 MILLION bonus on top of £2.1m salary.
We, the undersigned customers of Santander, call on the bank to honour its promise made three years ago and maintain its bank network in our towns.
