Save our Post Office from Closing

Myself and so many residents in around West Pottsgrove Township are asking you to consider keeping the Stowe Post Office open.

There has been a post office in Stowe since 1889 and many of our residents, and many outside of our township, use the Stowe post office on a daily basis. We have 45 local businesses that use our post office frequently. 32 of them use the P.O. Boxes in the Stowe Post Office.

If our Post Office is closed our residents and business owners would have to drive at least 3 miles , one way to the Post Office in Pottstown. With the price of gas these days that will only increase the actual cost to mail that package, purchase that money order or stamps, or pick up their mail at the P.O. Box.

The Stowe Postmaster, Patti Bruns, provides excellent service with a smile and goes out of her way to be of help.

One person, obviously from Pottstown, posted this on the internet. “Friendly and never a long wait, will travel across town to use instead of the main. “ You can see that some of the residents of Pottstown are driving to the Stowe Post Office to use it because it is more convenient for them.

I plead with you to understand that the Stowe Post Office provides a vital service to the community and the businesses that depend on it. The U.S. Postal Service needs to look at other cost-cutting measures and not close the post offices that our communities need and depend on.

I hope you will use your leadership position to quickly turn around the decision to close our Post Office..
