If the sale of the car park goes through the Terrigal Community could potentially lose approx 30 - 35 car spaces, which equates approx to 180 to 200 cars on average per day. Approx 1260 to 1400 cars per week.
Hypothetically if you said that each car had between 2 - 3 people who spent $10 each per day that would roughly equate to $25,200 to $42,000.00 of income for the Terrigal CBD each week. (These figures/estimates are only a rough calculation)
Everyone knows that parking in Terrigal is a premium, can business afford to lose the income these spaces provide everyweek?
Would it be harder to just jump in the car with friends and family to Terrigal for an ice cream and a swim with less car spots available?
We, the undersigned Terrigal residents and business owners call on Gosford council to stop the sale of the car park at 5-7 Church Street, Terrigal.
We oppose the sale as this will greatly impact on local businesses and resulting in a drop in tourism, social leisure activities and increase traffic congestion.
