Target: Carlton Football Club/AFL
Region: Australia
Background (Preamble):
This petition aims to have Optus Oval reopened for AFL Football. Optus Oval is the AFL home ground for the Carlton Football Club. It was redeveloped in 1997 at a Cost of 8.5 Million Dollars.

In 2004 The Carlton President at the Time (Telstra Dome Boss) Decided Carlton would make more Money Playing there Games At the Venue He was In Charge OF. LOL no Conflict Of Interest there. LOL.

So Carlton moved to Telstra Dome Ian Collins Got his Bonus for Getting another Tennant too Telstra Dome. 2005 was Carlton's First Year away from its Ground. It had Played football there for over 100 Years. They had their highest Membership In 2005 and yet they had their Biggest Finanial Loss in Club Histroy. Their Social Club at the Ground is Now Loosing Millions for the First Time in its Histroy, which is no Surprize there is no Point being a Member of a Social Club at a Ground that is no Longer in Use.

There is now talk that the current board wants too knock down the 10 year yld Ledgends Stand because it's dilapidated. Remember it's Only 10 Years OLD only a few years older than Telstra Dome and has seen about one third of the events.
Petition:
I urge all Carlton Supporters and AFL Fans to sign this Petition. Optus is an absolute Fantastic Venue.

Save Optus Oval.
