Background (Preamble):
Since being folded into the Sound Shore Medical System, Mount Vernon Hospital has slowly and systematically been dismantled. Vital health medical services and profit centers have been moved to Sound Shore Medical Center and many beds have been lost.
Mount Vernon has an ever-growing population and many of its residents are poor and disabled and are unable to travel to New Rochelle or other areas for proper and essential medical care.

Petition:
We, the undersigned Mount Vernon residents, Mount Vernon Hospital staff and other interested parties hereby demand that Sound Shore Medical Center CEO John Spicer and its Board of Directors stop the dismantling of Mount Vernon Hospital and restore its vital medical services and profit centers that have previously been moved to other medical facilities.
