Facing economic woes, the USPS is considering closing the town of Kenefic, OK post office to save money.
The Kenefic, OK post office has long served the town of Kenefic, OK and the rural Bryan County area residents and business. The Kenefic post office is the only post office outside of Durant and Caddo, OK.
The Kenefic post office serves a unique customer base that includes many of Bryan County farmers and elderly residents who rely daily on the convenient and local services provided by the Kenefic post office. That includes the services of PO Boxes, distribution of government checks and mail order medicine to name a few.
Closing this post office will create an undue burden for many residents of Bryan County, that can’t afford the cost to drive the 25 to 45 mile round trip to a local post office. Therefore we oppose its closure.
We the undersigned, call on the federal lawmakers to not close the Kenefic, OK 74748 post office.
