Category: Government
Target: United States Postal Service
Background (Preamble):
For the last three years the United States Postal Service has stated that they were committed to the preservation of the Hawleyville Post Office.

In spite of the landlord's, Housatonic Railroad, willingness to negotiate continued occupancy as one option and the willingness of a local developer to meet construction requirements for a long term lease at 23 Barnabas Road as another option, the USPS has called for the closure of the Hawleyville Post Office.

Petition:
We the undersigned call on the US Postal Service to keep Hawleyville postal services at its current site location with appropriate renovations having been made, or to provide a permanent location on Barnabas Road.
