Target:
Immigration Minister & Home Office

United Kingdom

Habib, H.O ref: S1498736 is an openly gay Pakistani man. He arrived to the UK in 2007. He then sought asylum based on his sexuality.

Being a gay person is considered a taboo in Pakistan and gay rights are close to non-existent. According to Pakistani law, homosexuality is illegal and is punishable by death.

Habib fears persection from his family members and the Pakistani government due to his sexual orientation. Habib's father disowned him when he found out about his sexuality and threatened to harm Habib. Added to that, Habib's father is a barrister and may have the legal duty to report his son to the Pakistani authorities which puts Habib in even more danger.

Habib has now established a life in the UK where he feels that he can express himself openly and has made friends who are supportive and accepting of who he is.

Habib has been denied asylum by the UKBA and is due to be deported TONIGHT (charter flight leaving 11pm, 28 August 2012). Please help us stop his deportation.

We, the undersigned, demand that the deportation of Habib (H.O ref: S1498736) is to be stopped immidiately.
