Networked radio stations Capital Gold and Classic Gold are forming a merger which is controlled by their owners GCap Media Limited.
The "new" station is rumoured only to have two live shows broadcast daily, one at Breakfast and one at Drive Time.
This is going to be a national radio stations that attracts millions of listeners across the UK & tahnks to the internet, the world.
One of the best shows on the radio is the Monday to Thursday evening show Dean Martins Jukebox where listeners can call, text or e-mail in for requests and take part in the show. This show is due to be dropped as part of the new station.
Are you a music fan ? Do you listen to the radio ? Do you listen to Capital Gold ? Well Capital Gold as we know & love it are to cease broadcasting early in August. They are due to merge with fellow-owned station Classic Gold and have only live Breakfast & Drivetime Shows.
It would appear that there will be no room at the new station for Dean Martin's Jukebox which is aired Monday to Thursday from 7pm to 10pm. Dean also presents the weekend Breakfast shows on the station from 6am to 9am on Saturday & Sunday mornings.
Dean's interaction with his audience is amazing, he has such a varied selecton of listeners from children to pensioners and I know a lot of elderly, disabled and house-bound people love listening and taking part on the show.
We MUST keep this show on the radio as either part of the "new" Gold station or try to show our strongest feelings to ensure an alternative station takes up the reins of Deans excellent show.
