Bethungra dam is in the hands of the land and property management authority which is looking at lowering the water level or demolishing the dam all together due to fears the dam wall is not safe.
This dam is a great tourist attraction, good fishing and camping area and an asset to the bethungra area.
Bethungra is a located in Junee Shire in the South West Slopes region of New South Wales, Australia situated on the Olympic Way about 13 kilometres north east of Illabo and 24 kilometres south west of Cootamundra.
