Save Adult Education Program at Ballou STAY High School

The Principal of Ballou STAY High School is closing down the adult education program at Ballou Stay by denying the department the necessary support to keep the program running effectively.
The program is understaffed, the space provided is not adequate to service the students. The principal took a third of the space allocated to adult education for social services programs, thereby creating an environment not conducive to learning.
We have constant interruption from students seeking social services. The principal has recently closed down two ABE classes with no accomodation in place to serve the disenfranchised students.
NEDP is the only Adult Education Program at Ballou STAY High School.
We, the undersigned, call on the Mayor of the District of Columbia to stop any and all attempts to close down (NEDP) the Adult program at Ballou STAY High School, and to provide adequate support and proper funding.
