Dear family and friends who plan to participate in Sage's 2nd Annual Softball Tournament, I would like to inform you that it will no longer be held in Altus. They ran into a problem with the field. It was vandalized a week ago causing almost $8,000 in damage. When I got the call the woman speaking to me was just as devastated for us as I was getting the news.

Dad and I volunteered to clean the field and do all we could to get it up and running before tournament and although they were very appreciative they just don't have the funds. The water had to be shut off due to damage.

We then decided to try again in Quanah and we were informed that the Superintendent was going to take a vote and let us know the decision. We were extremely blessed with a donation from Megan's boss's (one of Sage's older sisters) allowing us to be able to not only give 1 $500 scholarship with the money we raised last year but all 11 applicants will receive a $500 scholarship this year totaling at $5,500 in scholarships to the graduating class of 2015.

We offered a $500 security deposit to insure the field would be left the way it was found, $100 cash donation just for allowing us to use the field, we have also typed up a non incidental contract for its team to sign stating that if an injure were to occur the QISD and or our family would not be held responsible. With all that being said we were sadly informed that we wld not be allowed to use the field. After further investigation we found out there was NEVER a vote an individual decided not to allow us on his own. We have decided to take action and fight for what is right.

We are starting a petition in the Quanah and Vernon paper. I am also starting an online petition for those that don't live close. We will be hosting hot dogs and drinks on May 10th from 1:00-3:00 @ 908 Mercer in Quanah for those that would like to sign the petition. We just want the community's support in this matter. Sage lived in Quanah her whole life. All six of us girls are Q.H.S. Alumni.

We are only trying to give back to the kids of our future and keep our sister's memory alive. We as a family hope to have the support of everyone in the community but we understand if you are not lead to join us. We will run the article in the Quanah paper next Thursday and in Vernons paper sometime this week.

We will be attending a board meeting on May 11 @ 7:30 pm pleading our case and requesting a vote from the board. For anyone that wld like to join and show support with Shandi, Johnny and myself you are more than welcome to attend.

The more support we have the better chance we will have at winning the board over or at least getting a fare vote. Again we are solely fighting for this to give our kids in the community another opportunity to further there education. Our goal is to have something good come out of our tragic loss.

We the Marines family and supporters are requesting your signature to help show your support for the 2nd Annual Softball Tournament June 20, 2015.

We only feel it right to host the tournament where she was raised.

Thank you! God Bless!
