Falkirk Council and Transport Scotland are proposing the M876 Glenbervie Special Roads Scheme - to build East-facing motorway slip roads in Larbert from the M876 onto the A9 Stirling Road.

An additional 5000 vehicles per day are expected to use the slip roads.

Our specific objection to the scheme is the proposed off-slip that has been designed to join the A9 by means of a dangerous t-junction. The location of the proposed t-junction is directly opposite a number of accesses to residential properties on the narrowest stretch of the single-carriageway road.

If allowed to go ahead, this t-junction will directly endanger pedestrians and vehicles both on the A9, on the slip road and accessing residential properties.

A safer exit could be created by re-routing the off-slip through the adjoining brownfield site to join the A9 at the A88 North Broomage roundabout. This roundabout already provides west-facing access to the M876.

We the undersigned are opposed to the proposed M876 off-slip t-junction at the A9, and urge Falkirk Council and Transport Scotland to move the off-slip exit to a safer, more logical junction, at the existing unused spur of the roundabout at North Broomage.
