To install Flashing Lights and Cameras at the School Crossing on Dunnings Road to improve the Safety of Users of the Crossing.
We the undersigned request Council to install flashing lights and cameras at the School Crossing on Dunnings Road, Point Cook.
We believe that there is significant danger posed to the users of the Crossing due to:
1) The bottleneck created by the reduction of lanes in Palmers Road causes traffic to bank up and leads to driver frustration and lack of care.
2) Many cars fail to obey the 40km/hr sign.
3) At least 3 cars per day speed up when the Supervisor enters the crossing, to avoid having to stop, placing the Supervisors in significant danger.
4) At each session up to 8 cars drive through the Crossing whilst the Supervisor is actually on the Crossing, again, causing significant risk.
5) The large number of trucks that use Dunnings Road and do not comply with the Speed Limit and therefore are unable to stop.
6) The unsafe placement of the new Bus Stop.
