This is probably not the first nor the last petition to be drafted given the events yesterday that so tragically took place in Connecticut where a man stole the lives of so many innocent children.
How many times does a tragedy of this magnitude need to take place before our government takes the necessary action to deter this horribly disturbed behavior from occurring?
It is with a heavy heart, being a parent, that I ask everyone to please sign on to this cause. I am besides myself after all of this. I cannot begin to imagine what these parents are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with all of them.

We, the undersigned, call on the federal, state, and local governments to adopt a law to mandate the daily assignment of at least one police official to be permanently stationed at schools in order to increase our children's safety and welfare.
