The purpose of this petition is to influence the Iowa Legislature to reinstate criminal penalties for “Runaway Youth,” children are easy prey to the vices of our society.
Many children are unemployed or underemployed and they do not possess the financial stability to care for their necessities. Also with absconder minors families are broken and on a various occasions theses youth become entangled into sex trafficking.
We, the undersigned, call on the Iowa Legislature to reinstate criminal charges for youth who run away from custodial biological, adoptive, and foster parents.
