You should support this petition because, the new Attendance Policy lowers the likelihood of teachers scheduling field trips. It limits the amount of times we can sign out of class, even if you are signing out for a legitimate reason such as a doctors appointment, field trips like the Cambodia trip, family emergencies, and emotional problems.
We will also work to remove unjust rules and create a fair Attendance Policy that the teachers, Students, and PTO agree on.
This should take away the power that the faculty will have for witness encounters of students,even if a prior block was signed out.
This petition will work on:
• Increase sign out cap on.
• Make field-trip sign outs and doctors appointments not count toward the cap.
• Removal of the rule that states "If a teacher see's you in the hallway after you sign out of class that class will not be excused.
