The introduction of an optional £42 p.a charge (additional to Council Tax) for collection of green bin garden waste will be of gigantic cost.
Many green bins being handed back resulting in garden waste being up in black bins instead.
This will undoubtedly lead to a decrease in recycling, an increase in the amount of waste being taken to the incinerator at Great Blakenham and an increase in the amount of green waste being fly-tipped further impacting costs and the environment.
We, the undersigned, call on Waveney District Council to stop the planned for collection of Green Bin waste and instead seek other creative solutions to redress the deficit.
