Target: George Washington University
Background (Preamble):
In August 2009, the educational requirements for George Washington University's Healthcare MBA program were modified without notification or consent of the students enrolled in the program. George Washington University did not make any attempts to "grandfather in" students already enrolled in the program and on track to graduate.

The new graduation requirements force students to complete 3 classes every 7 weeks, in contrast to the original program where 1 in-depth class was required every 7 weeks along with 1 annual interdisciplinary project. University staff informed several students that if they wished to continue with the original program, they would no longer be scheduled to graduate in 2 years. We consent that a University has the right to modify graduation requirements for a program; however, exceptions must be allotted for students who began completing the original program.

It is our belief that forcing the completion of the new curriculum upon students halfway through the original program is unethical and unjust.
Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on George Washington University to restore the Healthcare Masters in Business Administration (MBA) program to the graduation requirements quoted at the time of our acceptance to the program.

Changes to an educational course of study should be "grandfathered in" for students enrolled in the affected program prior to the change.

Thus, the undersigned demand that George Washington University restore the graduation requirements to their original integrity (1 in-depth course every 7 weeks and 1 annual interdisciplinary project).
