Target:
National Park Services (NPS)
Region:
United States of America

Reservation 72, owned by the National Park Service, is located along the south side of Massachusetts Avenue and is bounded by Eye Street to the south, 6th Street to the west and 5th Street to the east.

It is the intention of our group to work with our local community members, the Building Improvement District (BID) and the NPS to develop a recreational park that meets the needs of our community and abides to the mission of the NPS:

“We are proud that tribes, local governments, nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individual citizens ask for our help in revitalizing their communities, preserving local history, celebrating local heritage, and creating close to home opportunities for kids and families to get outside, be active, and have fun.”

As of this moment, our group has gained support from our local ANC and BID to begin the planning with the local community for what we should do with that park. Ideas, such as a mixed dog park and children's playground, have been suggested, but until we get the support of the NPS, nothing can happen.

We are asking you, as part of our community, to show support for this initiative to revitalize the park and bring forth a more prosperous community.
