The United States Constitution designated the power of electing US Senate members to the states, allowing the states themselves to have a clear voice in the governing policies of this country.
However, the seventeenth amendment silenced this voice, funnelled more power to the federal government, and furthermore undermined the very intent of the Constitution, to prevent such concentration of power, by allowing election of senators by popular vote, and preventing the states from being able to weigh in on serious national issues.
Therefore, we the undersigned, call upon the immediate and unconditional repeal of the Seventeenth Amendment.
