Reopen our 24 hour access to computers!
We the undersigned students request that you immediately re-open the 24 hour computer accesses facilities pending a proper informed consultation process and the conduct of the various impact assessments you are required to complete.
No effective notice of this change of computer access has been given to students. We enrolled at Birkbeck, at great financial cost, on the understanding that we would have 24 hour computer access.
I believe that the current decision could cause a very serious disadvantaged for students, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Further, the flexibility of study, because of the part time nature of our courses allows us to spread our study periods throughout the day, evening and night. This is particularly important as we have entered the re-sit period.
