Canalside which is a housing association has erected a playground next to our church. There was no consultation with the church regarding the proposed site although initially the area which now houses the playground was supposed to be a green area.
The result has been distruption of our church services,damage to the building, abuse from the users, trespassing of the property who feel that our walkway is the entrance to the playground and when told this is not the case become abusive. threft of church and members property.
The church has been here for over 25yrs withoout any problem it has only been since the erection of this playgroug that these problems have been manifested.
We the members of the Hackney Seventh Day Adventist regretfully make our petition to our counsellor for the removal Ivy garden playground that has been sited next to our church.
The placing of playground in such close proximity to our church has resulted in, disturbances to our worship services due to the noise and foul language of the users making it very difficult to listen, meditate, worship and pray.
It has also resulted in extensive damage to the church building, abuse from the users the majority of which are older then the intended age, trespassing of the church property, theft of church members belongings and fear for members safety. The playground has attracted a number of youths who has no intention of “playing” in the park. The problems afore mentioned is as a direct result of placing the playground at this site.
