Thanks to everyone who signed and supported this campaign. The petition was able to achieve a compromise between school and Pupils. Commemorative ties are being paid for by the school & a permanent memorial to Jordan is being designed for the new school gardens.

Petition Background (Preamble):

Year 11 Pupils at The Nuneaton Academy have worn wrist bands in remembrance of their friend Jordan Cobby since his passing from cancer on 15th March 2011.

The Academy is now insisting that the bands be removed as they are not part of the uniform although the pupils have been wearing them for 18 months. The bands were sold in school and all proceeds donated to The Teenage Cancer trust in Jordan's memory. Some of these students have never removed these bands accept for PE lessons.

The Principal of the Academy says she was not aware that Students were wearing them, so they can't be that obtrusive.

The pupils are in their final year at the Academy and wish to keep Jordan with them throughout, just as he would've been had he not been cruelly taken.

God Bless Jordan xx <3 xx

Petition:

We, the undersigned, call on Mrs Helen McEvoy to re-think the ban of "Remembering Jordan" bands for the 2012/2013 school year and to leave the year 11 Pupils to continue to mourn their friend in peace.
