I moved to Georgia earlier this year partly because the Georgia law at that time supported a parents right to a religious exemption to vaccinations. The United States Constitution grants all of us the freedom to practice any religion. Until May of 2015 Georgia law upheld our rights to object to vaccination due to religious beliefs. In May, a change was made to the law, requiring a standardized form to be used instead of the previous notarized letter. While I have no objection to signing a required form. I object to the language used in this new form. http://goo.gl/VLocu4

I urge every parent in the state of Gerogia to sign this petition to demand that the language used in this form be changed to reflect the values of the individuals that request religious exemptions.

In the mean time, I urge you to object to signing this form. I will be submitting an addendum to this form instead stating the need for changes.

We the undersigned call on the Georgia Department of Health to correct the wording of Form 2208 to reflect the values of individuals seeking religious exemptions. The current wording, if signed, conflicts with our religious beliefs. The form states that vaccinations are safe, however, in a 2011 verdict the Supreme Court stated that "vaccines are unavoidably unsafe". Therefore we cannot agree with this statement. We demand this line be stricken from the form.

Further the language in item #5 states that our children "may be excluded due to epidemic" etc... This form should not be used for religious persecution, therefore we demand that a line be added that any such forced absence shall be excused and not result in truancy penalties. This form also states that in the event of an epidemic "my child may be required to receive a vaccination".

We demand that this line be stricken from the form as we do not consent to our children being vaccinated under any circumstances. Lastly, in the event that laws continue to change, this form is not an admission that my child is not vaccinated.

Such assumption would violate the 5th amendment. Parents shall not be compelled to sign the current form as it violates religious freedoms granted by the United States constitution.
