I hereby petition the United States Government, to put in place proper laws relieving juveniles charged with a felony from carrying it over into adult life.
We the undersigned, need more sensible laws so that the future of our country is not led but those deemed unfit.
Juveniles under 18, except in only the severest of crimes should never be charged as an adult. Low level felonies committed by persons under 18 should not be carried with them later on.
Juveniles charged as an adult do nothing but hinder their adult lives, making them ineligible from the simplest tasks. Gaining employment, owning a firearm, building a future that they could have had if it had not been for a mistake made as a child.
Allow these individuals who do not go on later in life to get the second chance that they deserve. We all make mistakes, none of us are immune to that, but children deserve a chance at a better life and to learn from their mistakes.
