The Canadian economy is struggling with many Canadians unemployed or under-employed. However for humanitarian reasons most Canadians are not against allowing into Canada a reasonable number of Syrian refugees, but they need to be properly vetted.

It is not possible to properly screen 25,000 refugees by year end. In any event, 25,000 Syrian Refugees is far too many for a country the size of Canada with a population of 35 million people. Obama has committed to 10,000 Syrian refugees over the course of a year and the U.S. has a population of 321 million.

The Canadian government needs to reduce the number of refugees to be allowed into Canada to a number the Canadian economy can reasonably support and such refugees should only be allowed entry upon satisfactory security screening without imposing artificial, unreasonable and unrealistic deadlines to complete such screening.

We, the undersigned, call on the Prime Minister and the Government of Canada to reduce the number of refugees to be allowed into Canada to a number the Canadian economy can reasonably support and such refugees should only be allowed entry upon satisfactory security screening without imposing artificial, unreasonable and unrealistic deadlines to complete such screening.
