There are too many homes in Rhode Island and Massachusetts which have mechanical systems as well as wiring in the attics and do not provide safe reasonable attic access for workmen to do their jobs safely.
This petition is for people in the HVAC, electrical, roofing, plumbing, alarm technician trades. It will hopefully provide enough signatures to submit to congressmen and senators in state governments to force homeowners and landlords to provide a safe attic access such as pull-down staircases or a large enough access to the attic in a safe location.
There are many homes where the attic access is above basement stairs and this is an unsafe workplace hazard which a worker in a home could be permanently injured should he or she encounter a fall.
