FHS Step/Dance Teams (hereinafter "The Teams") have existed for 4 years. Student participants practice several hours per week. "Stepping/Dance" is rigorous, and requires stamina and coordination. It is comparable to some athletic activities. It is also comparable to performing art activities.
The Team has won 1st place at a city wide competition and 2nd place in an out of town competition. The teams participate in FHS pep rallies and games. The teams have been requested to participate or compete at colleges, national level competitions and professional sporting events. It is source of FHS pride.
We, the undersigned, call on the administration to approve the Firestone Step/Dance Team members for qualification for varsity letters.
Individual participants would qualify for letters based on standards set by the Teams coaches and teacher advisor.
