Do to the high demand for corn not only for food for farm animals, ethanol in gasoline, and trade it has also effected wet lands, hay fields, and prairies to diminish due to urban development and demand for farm ground due to the growing world's population.
It has greatly affected animals like the Barn Owl because of the diminishing of the grass lands and pastures.
It has taken away their nesting and roosting areas and their food sources such as mice, shrews, and voles just to name a few.
We call on the Urban Land Institute to please look at policies on urban development and how it affects animal life.
