Proposed Changes for NC Wildlife Resources Commission

I would like to propose changes to the current Regulations for the Whitetail Deer Season in Rutherford County.

I propose a shortened Rifle Season with a 3 week maximum. 1 Buck Limit per Season.

With the proposed regulation changes we would see a much stronger and healthier deer herd for us and future generations to enjoy pursuing.

A 1 buck limit would create a better rut experience for hunters to enjoy as well as get more does bred the first time they come into estrous. This is important because with the current "trickle rut" we experience it causes does to be bred over a longer period of time which in turn makes them give birth to the fawns over a longer period of time. This makes it easier for the coyotes predation which hurts the future deer herd.

There is a petition out there now that other hunters have signed wanting the season in Rutherford, Cleveland & Polk Counties to be extended into January. If you are serious about wanting to see this stopped and like the proposed changes I have proposed please consider signing this petition, which will be given to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.
