We use to say it every day in school, then it became a big deal about God in the Pledge. Its not about God, its about our Country. Its important to understand the difference.
If you really want to get technical, our Country was founded under God. Regardless if you are Religious or not, the Pledge of Allegiance is about us a Country, us as an Individual, us as living free.
I believe saying the Pledge of Allegiance should be back in schools. It was a way for children to pledge to their Country. It was not to pledge to God, but a pledge to our freedom on this land.
It is a reminder to how we became free, how our Ancestors fought for our freedom. Listen to the first line of the Pledge of Allegiance, what does it say? "I Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.." It is not a prayer. Our Country was founded on the Flag and became the United States of America. Bring it back into our children's lives.
