Background (Preamble):
Inspired by the success of Modbury (www.plasticbagfree.com/) in south Devon and the film Message In The Waves (www.messageinthewaves.com/) a group of us from Reading Friends of the Earth (www.readingfoe.org.uk/) and a few other local groups are working on getting Caversham in Reading to follow suit.
We would like to see local shops support a reusable cloth bag and to stop providing plastic bags, or if this is not possible try and source biodegradable versions.

We, the undersigned, agree that plastic bags are rubbish!
We support the campaign to make Caversham plastic bag free and call on Caversham shopkeepers to provide sustainable, reusable cotton carrier bags instead of disposable plastic bags.
