By allowing Domestic Animal Cruelty to occur, our society is closing their eyes to what may become tomorrow’s tragedy. Politicians, for instance, seem to only be concerned about the problems in their four-year term. Our world is indeed troubled with many dilemmas and we can all agree that we should focus on today’s current situations, but we cannot limit ourselves to the present. Our future still lies ahead of us and everyday brings us closer to facing tomorrow’s catastrophes, but this sometimes causes thought on the subject.
If we were to take upon these harms immediately while we still are capable to then why shouldn’t we. This is where we can all conclude that the human race are all procrastinators. We must open ourselves up to further possibilities and help prevent what will soon become a deadly problem.
However, we are not taking the correct steps into this better future by ignoring the tragedy that some pets must face every day. Animals are very much alive and feel the pain and abuse they are forced to endure by the abusers. These people, no matter who they are, are in need of mental therapy and should be punished by full extent of the law. Some may argue that animal torture is not very significant or threatening but, in truth, the cruelty is very much frightening for the public.
We must keep in mind that animal torture is only a step lower than human torture. It is just as disturbing and should be punished with an almost equal sentencing. It cannot be tolerable to let such insane individuals roam our streets and threaten our lives along with animals.
If you sign this petition, then you agree that we need to plan for the future an in order to make it better, we must end such cruelty with more severe punishment. However, if this petition is ignored like so many other things in the world, this will truly reflect on our kind. We want a better earth and criminal offenses such as animal cruelty to end but take no efficient action. Animals cannot speak our language and tell us their pain but we can speak it for them. The problem is, how long will it take?
