Background (Preamble):
Canada has experienced a serious shoortage of affordable housing over the past few years. As a result many peole have died on our streets and it is a shameful situation for our country. If you wish to sign this petition you must be a Canadian citizen.
Petition:
We, the undersigned residents of Canada, draw the attention of the House to the following: THAT; the Federal Government recognize that there is a serious shortage of affordable housing in our country and that the Federal Government should take action to remedy the situation; THAT; the Federal Government adopt a national housing strategy; THAT; the Federal Government adopt the 1% solution put forward by the Toronto Disaster Relief committee which would eliminate the national disaster related to homelessness in our country; THEREFORE; your petitioners call upon Parliament to address these problems as soon as possible.
