We would like a competition standard skatepark in Terrigal.
There is a growing number of families on the Central Coast seeking facilities beyond playgrounds. Many travel outside of our town to access facilities where they can skate, scoot and ride bikes.
We are calling on Gosford city Council to make this a high priority and construct a facility that is:
• well designed, landscaped and able to harbour an advanced skill level.
• well sited and accessible with high visibility for natural surveillance.
We believe this type of facility will encourage participation by a diverse range of people and become an important social hub for families and youth in our town.
We also believe it would create more tourism and has the potential for events such as high profile skateboard competitions e.g. Bondi Bowl-a-rama.
Our campaign needs to demonstrate support from not only the kids on the central coast but also their parents and the wider community. You can help by signing this petition.
We the undersigned, as citizens of the Central Coast of NSW support the development of a free public skatepark In Terrigal.
We recognize the need for and the benefits of a free public skatepark and believe the town should at the very least provide suitable land and agree to maintain the skatepark after construction, and at the most, fund, build and maintain the skatepark just as it would a basketball court, tennis court, or other public general use area.
