Thanks to Trudy Cunningham, the sustainability officer, we've received an eco award for our sustainability on campus.
She does the work that 7 people are paid to do at St Andrews and they have half the students we do.
After meeting with her last week, I'm inclined to start a petition, as senior management at Dundee university have recently revoked her right to contact students directly in regards to eco-events and freebies.
I want to support her efforts of creating sustainability on campus.
Dear Senior management,
We would like to maintain direct communication between Trudy Cunningham, Sustainability Officer, and us, the student body.
Due to the university's initiative to decrease unnecessary emails to students, Trudy has been blocked from telling us about latest eco-events and freebies.
She has done an extraordinary job in making Dundee University more sustainable. Her efforts have won us awards, placed us on the eco-campus map among other universities, has fought for outside funding and single-handedly claimed hundreds of thousands of pounds to give us a greener campus. She also does the work that 7 people are paid to do at St Andrews and they have half the students we do.
After all her efforts, senior management is removing her right to contact us. We the students and advocates of sustainability acknowledge her importance and want communications restored.
