This petition is for a traffic light to be installed at the intersection of US 82 and Hwy 219 in Centreville, AL. As the intersection continues to develop this juncture is extremely dangerous and numerous accidents have occurred causing grievous bodily injuries and destruction of property.
The current plan for "J" turns will create a number of additional issues including less access for everyone including emergency vehicles, more intersections and negative effects on the local economy and development in this area,
We the undersigned citizens of the Centreville and Brent community, as well as employees and visitors residing outside of these areas, petition to stop forward progress of the proposed "J" turn at the intersection of US 82 and Hwy 219 in Centreville, AL and have the following installed in order to address the ongoing safety concerns and preserve the economical development, in our community.
- Traffic Lights Installed
- Traffic Light Warning Strips (Rumble Strips
- Decreased Speed Limit at Intersection (45 MPH Suggested)
- Longer Turning Lanes.
