Petition Background (Preamble):
We have seen 3 accidents in 3 months, causing 2 pedestrian fatalities; each accident occurred in the same area, under the same circumstances. Pedestrians crossing legally on a green walk light, while motorists are given the green light to turn into the very spot they are crossing.
The minister for roads has been made aware of the problem, and as yet has not implemented the most basic safety measure to protect pedestrians.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on the NSW minister for roads and the RTA to take immediate action in changing the light settings that allow motorists to turn when given a green light when and where pedestrians are ALSO walking on a green light in the city of Parramatta.
We request that the settings allow adequate time for pedestrians to cross, before motorists waiting to turn are given the green light.
