The Pedestrian Lights do not provide an easier way to cross the road. They give the Pedestrian only 11 second to cross from one side to the other. It has no warning sound for those with poor eyesight.

The crossing does not have a flashing green man to help those with poor hearing or to help those children with problems of understand the ways to cross safely.

We want to re-introduce the warning crossing sound to be put back on the Pedestrian Crossing near St James Retail Park at the bottom of Stamfordham Rd Newcastle Upon Tyne Near Costa and Lidl, and also For a green man flashing symbol also to be added to the crossing, and finally we want the crossing time to be increased to either 17 to 20 Seconds. This is for those who are slow walking, the Elderly and also due to the School groups who use this crossing.
