Summertown Stars is one of the largest youth football clubs in Oxfordshire.
Five Mile Drive Recreation Ground is owned by Oxford City Council and has 6 football pitches. Each weekend it is used by 22 football teams comprising 50 girls and 180 boys between the ages of 5 to 13, and their parents.
With the demolition of the old pavilion, there will be no facilities at all at Five Mile Drive from September 2016, making it the only sports ground for youth football in the city without such facilities.
We, the undersigned, strongly urge Oxford City Council to provide a basic pavilion at Five Mile Drive Recreation Ground from September 2016 comprising toilets, a small kitchen area, and equipment storage facilities.
