I am calling for an overhaul of Law enforcement.
I recently went to a football match with my partner and his uncle and when we left we ran into a bit of trouble.
We went to the train station to catch a train home and when my partner and his uncle went down the stairs to get to our train they were grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground and arrested. Turns out someone had a heart attack on the platform, but instead of calmy refusing them access they went straight to excessive force. Could you imagine what would've happened if they had tasers?. My partners uncle had his faced smashed into the concrete stairs. My partner has to go to court for public nuisance and obstructing police.
They would not explain these charges to us which they are required to do. They also restricted us from sitting in the waiting room at the watchouse until they were finished with his uncle. Instead we had to wait in the cold for 3 hours as his uncle had the house keys.
My grandfather served in WW2 and my father served the army for 20 years, I'm sure they didn't do this so I could watch people I care about be attacked in this fashion.
These charges may also restrict my partner to travel overseas with me to some places, all over this incidental thing. I am so sick and tired of seeing innocent people be charged, brutalised and have to go to court for doing nothing wrong while rapists walk free. It's got to change.
So, I am calling for the government to look at and change a few things. They need to look at everything from the recruiting process and the people the recruit to the court system.
Everything needs to be seriously reconsidered. After all they say alot of the police are in fact your school yard bullies. Why clog up the courts for this stupid incidents. The system doesn't work and it's just getting worse.
