Aim of Petition to achieve:
Provision free outdoor gym facilities in public parks located in the Northern Illawarra towns of Helensburgh, Stanwell Park and Otford to benefit the health of the community, particularly the senior population.
Vision:
To promote a strong, safe and healthy community for a better quality of life for all. Exercise is vital for health and wellbeing. It is an important therapeutic used in the prevention of treatment of many medical conditions. As a community, we need to help people of all ages to help themselves in the management of their own bodies, in the prevention of chronic disease and obesity.
Local, free outdoor gym equipment is vital to a community-centred approach helping people in maintaining social connection and assists in keeping the residence and guests in the area healthy and fit promoting the unique benefits of an active lifestyle that is available to all.
Our closest outdoor exercise equipment is located:
• WA Lang Park, Marine Drive, Wollongong 34.7km
• Kanahooka Park, Lakeside Drive, Kanahooka 44.4km
• Nicholson Park, Kulgoa Road, Woonona 22.6km
• Holborn Park, Holborn Street, Berkeley 42.8km
