Lidl plan to build a new supermarket on the site of the old Ford dealership on Muller Road.
My objections to this plan are summarised below:
1) Anyone who uses Muller Road on a regular basis will know that it is extremely congested, particularly in the evening rush hour and having a supermarket at this location will yet add to the pain already experienced by locals and commuters.
2) There is a large Sainsburys supermarket already planned for the Memorial stadium site. Yet another supermarket is not required in this area.
3) There are small local businesses in the immediate area and on Gloucester Road that will also be affected by yet another large corporation trying to turn our cities into uniform homogeneous copies that are devoid of any character (Costa coffee, Tesco, Sainsburys etc)
I object to the proposed application / development by Lidl of a new supermarket on the site of the old Ford dealership on Muller Road.
