WHEREAS the Province of Ontario is the only Province in Canada that does not allow the Provincial Ombudsman, who is an officer of the Legislature, to provide unbiased, independent, investigations of complaints against Hospitals.
AND WHEREAS, the people wronged by these institutions are left feeling helpless and most have nowhere else to turn for help to address their issues.
WE, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as follows:
To grant The Ombudsman of Ontario the power to investigate complaints against hospitals.
